This is the first attempt to review a movie. This movie casts Jane Fonda, J. Lo (I bet she would love to see I just credited her after Fonda), Michael Vartan, and Wanda Sykes.
Adam Scott plays J.Lo’s gay neighbor (be even holds a key to her apartment). He is portrayed in a positive way (he is actually so normal and likable that the neutral light turns to a quite positive one). Adam gets no on-screen action (that could easily have happened with the psychiatrist / waiter character played by Stephen Dunhan), but it is pretty clear the reason for that was to concentrate all the attention on the Lo-Vartan pair.
There are two other minor gay related text. J.Lo is initially told that her love interest (Michael Vartan) is gay. Instead of being shocked with the allegation when confronted with it, it would have been very nice if Vartan just denied the allegation (that would have been necessary for him to hook up with Lo). It is true though that his shock could be construed as the shock he had from Lo’s not being able to see that he was interested in her (hence, not gay).
The other gay theme lies with a past Fonda husband (and Vartan’s step-dad) who was gay. At one point Wanda Sykes suggests Fonda should get another gay husband, and she laughs it off with a “ that was fun.”
