What a colossal piece of crap. Painful to watch. What was Matt Damon doing here? More important, what was Monica Bellucci doing here? She can act, I've seen it. Heath Ledger was in the flop too, but this movie was right up his alley at the time. I think he only became a respectable actor with Brokeback Mountain, which was released a few months after Brothers Grimm. The movie tells us the story of Matt Damon and Heath Ledger's characters, two brothers who con cities into giving them money so that they eliminate witches and evil spirits. Yikes. It's all a scam until they face a real witch hunt. I kid you not. That is the plot, and I fell for it. What was I thinking?
Our very brief gay moment here comes early in the movie, when Matt Damon sees what he thinks is a boy, and when the kid's father lets Matt know that the boy is actually a girl, Matt Damon says something like: "Well, I bet he will make a great wife someday!" I thought that was sort of trans cute. I'll take it. But do not see this movie. All crap. All the way.
