The line is from John Cameron Mitchell in the May 22, 2006 issue of The New York Times:
John did pretty much everything in one of my very favorite movies of all times: Hedwig and The Angry Inch. I listen to the soundtrack quite often. It's superb.
Well, a nice GaySay like that inspired me to create a new category here at Queer Beacon: "I Can't Believe It's Not Porn!" Coming soon.

Sorry to be the first again, but I think this idea can be of some help for others.
It's a rule in our societies that explicit sex is pornographic. Rules have been made by men. In any kind of art you're likely to see the naked female body, even her exposed genitalia, and that's ok, whereas showing the male naked body is a whole different matter. Some say it may be erotic as long as no penis is on the horizon. Some others will put a leaf on it, and so on... If, however, an erection is in sight then it's pornography. Period. No comparaisons are allowed. No (str8) man likes that...
Pornographic today is a synonim for scandalous, shocking, and has no longer anything to do with its first meaning.
Sex will keep on being considered pornographic in any form of art for as long as sex will keep on being considered in the minds of the men making the rules as a dirty, imoral act that is however necessary for the species to breed.
