Jake Gyllenhaal did a great job on SNL, what a nice show! The opening monologue was funny and all about Brokeback Mountain, of course.
In the opening monologue Jake said Brokeback was an important movie for him because it allowed him to connect with a new audience; he also said he was ready to do something that that audience has been eagerly waiting for...find out what was that all about after the jump (with the video).
I'm a completely out gay man and very community-involved. I don't think the parody of nelly cowboys and drag-queen divas is all that bad! Nor is it homophobic... that's a real stretch! The ability to laugh at ourselves is important.

Sorry, but a bunch of cowboys who go all nelly and swoon at the first sign of a diva-impersonating drag queen? I thought we'd evolved just a bit in the public's eye since 1975. Guess not. Homophobic garbage.
